Xmas nails!!! This post has taken me a while as I haven’t had time to paint my nails in ages. To be fair, they are probably more appropriate now as it’s only two days left till Christmas, can’t believe it!
As you know I have signed up for nailbox and this is the second box I have received. October’s nailbox had an Autumn theme so I wasn’t surprised to see November’s box with Christmas theme. I’m very pleased with this box, and very nice of them to also include two step-by-step guides how to paint the nails extra festive.
You will recognise all the colours as I used them when I made the Christmas inspired mugs earlier this month.
Orly Nail File
For as long as I can remember I have been using a glass nail file. I think they are great, very sturdy. I tried Orly’s this time around and I quickly noticed it files the nails down very quickly. I normally cut my nails and then shape them with a file. With this file I didn’t need to cut them first.
Elegant Touch Press-on Nails
I really like the idea of press-on nails, so simple, quick and hassle free. These are see through which is great as you can decide what colour and design to use and you can paint them before you press them on, genius! I always have trouble making the nails on my right hand looking as nice as on the left hand.
I sometimes wish I had longer nails, when I see them on others but I know they don’t suit me. I tried once, grew my own and they looked nice but when I saw pictures of myself I thought I looked like an old lady. I will be saving these long press-on nails from Elegant Touch for a future blog giveaway.
OPI ‘Happy Anniversary’
Another OPI nail polish to add to my collection. this is great as it can give different shades depending on how many layers you use. One is enough if you only want to give a shimmery effect. If you want more colour, two covers the nail. I guess three or four layers will almost make the nails look white/light grey.
True Brit ‘Park Lane’
I have never heard or come across True Brit before. I love the shape of the bottle, all square, but not sure why there is a need for two lids. It stands out in my nail polish collection and the colour is really nice. I might try all green nails in the new year.
Rimmel London ‘Double Decker Red’
This is a classic red nail polish from Rimmel, can’t get more Christmassy than that. It looks really cool on the glittery OPI nail polish as the glitter shines through.
Anyway, here are my Xmas nails. I have too small nails to be able to paint something cute on each and one of them. I managed to make a holly on my thumb nails but on the rest it was easier to write letters. I simply spelled out Xmas which isn’t very creative or cute but there’s no way you could mistake what this season’s theme is.
I have been meaning to get some nail design tools for a while and after being disappointed with myself on this design I have now ordered a nail tool kit with brushes and dotting pens.
Have you got Christmas themed nails?
