Tonight it’s finally time for Sweden to enter the Eurovision stage. Måns Zelmerlöw is representing Sweden with ‘Heroes’ and once upon a time he was my hero. It’s not until now that I think he can really sing, I don’t think I’ve ever heard him sing as good as in ‘Heroes’.
About six years ago I loved Måns’ music and I always turned the volume up when his songs played on the radio. I tuned in when I knew he was going to be on TV but that soon faded, his role as host for ‘Allsången’ was too much. Even so, when he came to my then home city (Halmstad) I took the chance to go see him.
Måns launching new single and at the home improvement store opening
Måns was promoting his latest single and was touring some cities playing at random venues. I saw him in an home improvement shop, equivalent to B&Q, on their opening day. I wasn’t the only one who saw him, lots of people had gathered to watch Måns sing. It was me, parents and grandparents taking their kids and grandchildren and all the screaming teenagers. I fit right in…
Signed single by Måns Zelmerlöw
Oh well, I’m not ashamed of much and if I want something I don’t miss a chance to enjoy it. I even lined up to have his latest single signed and my picture taken with him. Wouldn’t we make a lovely couple?
Neither of us knew he’d represent Sweden in Eurovision 2015 but here we are and I really do hope he brings the trophy back to were it belongs. Bring on Sweden 2016!
