Yay, Spring is finally here. Today is the first day of Spring and although I didn’t really want to leave my bed this morning, I did get up and took advantage of the warm sun (1). I’ve been wearing my colourful trainers this week as well (2), and more brighter clothes in general actually. It’s lovely and I hope it’ll last during Easter, next weekend.
Here are some more weekly updates I’ve been up to since last Sunday.
3. I’ve received some lovely packages this week. One Signature Box from Letterbox Gifts, including British Produced products. I’ve tried the chocolate from Amelia Rope; Pale Honeycombe & Sea Salt which was delicious! Really nice and subtle flavours and the chocolate melted lovely in the mouth.
4.The other package was from Coconut Lane and I have been wearing the gold bracelet since. I’ll write a full post later about all the other goodies I also received.
5. I’ve tried some more of the products which I received in the goody bag from the #HBMarchMeet. I’m not used to wearing dark lipsticks but I really liked the plum colour from Gosh and I think the matt effect is less eye catching. I wore this for last night’s Gatsby Themed poker event.
6. It’s not very often that I put on a fake tan but when I do, I use St Tropez mousse and I love it. When I found out that you can also use lotions to top up the tan, like this from Crazy Angel, I was thrilled to give it a go. It’s a white lotion which when applied gradually builds up a nice glowing tan. The lotion, unlike other tan products, smells amazing of Shea butter. So does the body wash from Good Things Spa so they compliment each other very well.
7-9. As usual, I’ve enjoyed lots of lovely food and drinks. Just before Christmas, Turtle Bay opened up in Leeds but I haven’t had a chance to try it out until now. One of my lovely colleagues suggested we should go for a meal in the middle of the week and we ended up here. I really like the Caribbean vibe the restaurant has and the food sure does add to that feeling. They have an extended menu with lots of fab meats to enjoy (unfortunately, not the best place for vegetarians or vegans), so it was difficult to decide what to eat. The service wasn’t the best so we had plenty of time to choose and enjoy the food in peace. For starters we shared two dishes; Jerk Glazed Ribs and Chilli Fried Squid. For my main I had the Jerk Goat Burger and all the food was amazing. Really flavoursome and spicy, in a good way.
10-12. On the Thursday night, my fellow blogger and ‘Kalmarit’ Maria, invited me along as her +1 to an event at Roxy Ballroom. I’ve been once before, for a quick beer, but during this visit, we had time to enjoy the food, drinks and play some pool. Maria is very good but I managed to beat her, ha! If you haven’t been yet yourself, I think you should. Not necessarily for the food or the drinks separately, but if you want to have a good night combining food, drinks and entertainment. You can play adventure golf (upstairs), pool, ping pong and beer pong so there’s bound to be something everyone enjoys.
How has your week been? Have you had a chance to enjoy the sun and Spring yet?
