This week had a really good start (only two working days) and an even better end; being on holiday in Sweden. I’m staying for another couple of days so I must admit it’s a nice feeling writing this, knowing I don’t have to go to work tomorrow. My Sunday isn’t until Wednesday. Anyway, here’s this week’s weekly update.
1. On the Monday, a parcel I’d been looking forward to receiving, finally arrived. I’m taking part in the #WEFitnessGoals campaign and received this box with fitness goodies to help me stick to my goals. More on this in a post next week.
2-3. Understandably, I didn’t do much at the beginning of the week, more than packing and planning for my trip. Sweden isn’t far away but with all the extra train trips around the actual flight, it takes me 12 hours in total – door to door. Because of this, I need to dress comfortably and make sure I have enough to read, and also bring some snacks for dull moments. I’ve recently discover nakd and I love these bars!
4. Sweden has finally got the winter everyone wants. Not at all as bad as in the US at the minute, just enough minus degrees for the white snow to stay. You can’t but love the Swedish winter!, it’s such a pleasant, dry cold which makes the days crisp (contrary the wet and dull cold England has) and the landscape looks amazing! I was able to snap a few nice pictures and this is the favourite!
5. I’ve mostly been chilling these days here and it’s so nice. One of the evenings, I went out for a meal with my lovely friends. We went to a restaurant I’ve never been to before, Kallskänken, and it’s such a cool place. Of course on trend with the industrial interior style most bars and restaurants decorate in at the minute. The menus is very short and simplistic but it was still difficult to make up my mind of what to have as everything sounded lovely. I ended up ordering a mini burger as a starter (felt like eating meat) and the risotto as my main. Artichoke tastes amazing, but since I never cook with it myself, it felt appropriate to indulge in an artichoke risotto with artichoke cream and crisps.
The rest of the weekend has been really relaxed and I’m glad. It’s nice just to chill with the parents, I haven’t done that in a long time, nor appreciated it enough before.
How’s your week been?
