Im sure plenty of you have planned a nice Valentine’s Day nails design. That is, if you have something special to do on the day, or maybe if you’re like me and just like coming up with fun designs for any occasion.
January’s nail box didn’t give me any other choice than to use their goodies for a Valentine’s themed design. I was hoping that this box would have a Valentine’s theme, especially since it’s my last box. I’ve truly enjoyed being signed up to Nailbox, they never disappoint, but this first half of the year is all about saving money for my holiday and move so I’m trying to save in where I can. And also, I’ve got far too many nail polishes now, that’s only been used once. I can easily come up with loads of fun nails designs whith what I’ve got, I don’t need new products!
Let’s move on to January’s goodies!
Elegant Touch ’24K Gold Ridge Filler’
This is a ridge filler, something I’ve heard good things about but never actually used myself. What a great coincidence, this month’s Nailbox supplied me with one. There are loads out there, different brands and styles. This in particular has a golden shimmer to it when applied. It’s nice but I’m not sure what the purpose behind it is, as a ridge filler is meant to fill the ridges (doh) and make the nails nice and smooth. It’s not a product I’d use on its own. Elegant Touch have many useful nail treatments in their Nail Apothecary range.
Ive tried it once pryor to this design and I’m not sure it made a massive difference, my nails are always stupid and it doesn’t seem to matter whatever I do, my nails always chip quickly.
Sinful Pro Shine ‘Babydoll’
This is a really cute nail polish, proper girly pink! I like the colour but that’s it! It just about covers on the second layer but it chipped already after one dash, including a long washing up session.
This nail polish on the other hand is a great when it comes to cover, it’s enough with one layer but out of habit, I added two. It’s a nice colour – sort of fuchsia/magenta type of colour. It manages to stay on better as well, with a bit longer survival time and not as big chippings.
Nailsinc Alexa Hearts
My favourite nail polish this month, sooo cute! I love the hearts! I haven’t tried it as it is, but I imagine it’ll look lovely over white nails. Instead, I used the sticks that came in the box to apply one heart at the time.
Here are the nails I designed. I used the nail art pen I got in last month’s box to create the white heart and the ‘love’ text. It was the first time I used the pen and as a tip, don’t try to apply before the nail polish is set ans use a dotting technique instead of drawing.
What do you think of this design? Are you a happy subscriber to Nailbox? Happy Valentine’s!
