Finding New Bikini Body Confidence with Protest

23rd April 2020 Comments : 2

Ad*. Swimwear season is around the corner. Sadly it looks like I won’t be going anywhere for a swim this year though. With my Easter trip to Sweden cancelled, I’m hoping to go during summer instead but we’ll see if that is possible. Luckily I have my balcony for sunny days, with hopefully plenty more to come. The sunshine and D-vitamin is helping me a lot these days. On the days when it gets very warm, I put on a bikini to catch as many sun rays as possible. Thanks to Protest, my bikini wardrobe is up to date and I want to make as much use of it as I can.

Everyone has a bikini body but not everyone feel comfortable in it. I have days when a bikini is the last thing I want to be seen in. Others day I’m like “oh hello there, who is this looking good in a triangle bikini top?”. Yup, for the first time ever, I’m wearing triangle bikini sets. I never thought I could because of the size of my boobs. I remember being in my late teens having to go for the “grandma” style bikini tops and being jealous of others who could fit the cool and chic styles. Since then, I guess fashion has changed, my body has changed and my perception of it.

Protest is a hip and sporty brand with a full range of swimwear with everything from push-up bikinis to men’s surfer shorts. I was obviously only interested in the bikini sets and I thought I’d take the chance to finally try a couple of triangle bikinis and I’m so happy I did. I’ve definitely gained more body confidence after trying these out, knowing they fit me. They’re all three different models of triangle bikini: halterneck, deep V neckline and regular.

Regular Triangle Bikini

Out of the three bikini sets I got, the regular triangle bikini set turned out to be my favourite. I was pleasantly surprised as I’d think my boobs might be too big for it to look good but that’s definitely a perception that’s changed. I love the model, fitting and the pattern. If you can’t go to the tropics, bring the tropics to you. I paired the top with a bikini bottom in neon pink but bottoms in the same pattern are available.

Halterneck Triangle Bikini

I couldn’t stay away from a monochrome set and this spoke to me as soon as I saw it. I love the pink details on the halterneck top and the bikini bottom. This sportier version is one I’d be comfortable jumping around in on the beach and go swimming in without worrying my boobs would fall out. The back detailing of the top is especially a firm favourite in design.

Deep V Neckline Triangle Bikini

The deep V neckline bikini set is also matching top and bottom. The top has wider straps than normal and the fabric has a yarn died stripe, giving the bikini structure. It’s the perfect mix between the other two triangle bikini sets as it reveals skin but covers where needed.

Which of these three triangle bikini sets is your favourite? What type of model do you go for when swimwear shopping?

I am sadly not a bikini wearer, I always opt for a cossie, (but this may change in time..)
However, I have a lot of love for bikinis and Jennie, you look killer fab in all these!
My personal favourite is the halter neck one. I love the style of the back. 🙂

I do like a swimsuit as well but sometimes it’s nice for the tummy to get some sun too 🙂 It’s fab in the back isn’t it, it’s the best part. Thank you for the kind words!! Xx
