A couple of weeks back, Lizi tagged me in The Blogger Tag which means she’s incouraged me to answer the following questions, just like she did in her post. I’m not a massive fan of these tags but I thought I might be a good idea to get me back in the mood of blogging. Lately I haven’t felt inspired but possibly this will help. It can’t be that hard to answer 25 questions about myself, right? I know myself better than anyone so here goes.
How tall are you?
I’ve live in England for 7 years now and still I’ve not learned to convert length and weight measures from the metric system to inches, pounds etc. I’m 1.61 and a half meters tall and I believe that’s 5’3 inches, which makes me slightly shorter than the female average height. I wish I was a couple of centimeters taller but living in England makes me feel better about my height than living in Sweden where more or less everyone is a lot taller.
Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
I’m an open book with nothing to hide so no hidden talents unless I don’t know them myself. I’ve recently learned how to open a bottle cap using the table side though. It worked really well on the first go.
What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
Bloggers being excited about attending events and signing up but then not turning up on the day of the event. I completely understand that we all can have last minute cancellations for various reasons, but not to let the organiser know is rude and very inconsiderate!
What’s your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?
People who say one thing but then go and do the opposite.
What’s your favourite song?
This is a really tricky question because I have so many and it changes over time depending on what music I listen too and what mood I’m in. This year, definitely Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ and one song I’ve always loved since the first listen is ‘Shoreline’ with Anna Ternheim. To me it’s a typical moody scandi song.
What’s your favourite social media website?
Instagram, without a doubt! I love photography and images says more than one word.
What’s your favourite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?
Just to hang out doing all sorts – cleaning, writing my blog, watching TV, cooking, pampering, dancing etc. I don’t have a specific activity I like to do when I’m on my own. I’m not scared of my own company, although it can get lonely sometimes living on your own.
What’s your favourite junk food?
I have to say burger, or pizza. It’s a tough call, whenever in doubt these two always work on a menu – you can’t really get any of them wrong…
Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
Unfortunately I don’t have a pet. I live in a flat so it wouldn’t be fair on the dog (I’d love to have a dog) with hardly any space and me being away most of the day working. Yes, there are great pet day cares but I don’t have the money for that, ha! I wouldn’t mind two fish in a bowl as a subsitute, hopefully easier to take care of.
What are your number one favourite nonfiction and fiction books?
My favourite non fiction (hoping that autobiographys are allowed) I must say ‘And I Don’t Want to Live This Life’ written by Nancy Spungen’s mum, Deborah Spungen, about her life with Nancy. The first time I read this book was in my teens. My favourite fictional book is ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. I love Christopher Boone, his way of thinking and the whole detective story and how it unveils information about his own life.
What’s your favourite beauty product or tool?
I guess I have to say lip balm as that’s something I always use. It’s not often you’ll see me walk out the door without makeup but it happens but it would never cross my mind leaving without my lip balm!
When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
This week! I walked into a glass door and banged my head and knee to it so hard everyone in the restaurant stopped eating and looked over to see what caused the bang. I have never walked into a door before and I hope I never have to again. I got out of it with a bruise on my knee and a big bump on my head. Luckily you can’t see it but I can feel it. I laughed straight away but it was quite embarrassing too.
If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oh no, I wanted to say water because I drink it all the time! Hmm, I would have to go with elderflower lemonade instead.
What’s your favourite movie?
I’ve got too many to choose from so this is tricky. Like with my favourite song it depends on mood, seasons etc. I don’t even have one go to film when I am out of ideas of what to watch. TV-series would have been easier, or at least I could have given you a long list.
What was your favourite lesson in school and why?
I loved maths; it was so easy to understand. There might be several ways in how to crack the equation/problem but there would only be one answer.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I could probably live anywhere in the world I like. Moving to England from Sweden has proved me that. If I really wanted to move I would have. I’d still say New Zealand as it’s a mix of England’s green hills, the language, Scandinavian mountains, fjords and waterfalls and it’s easy to get to the coast.
PC or Mac?
I grew up using Mac but quickly changed to PC because that’s what was used in school. I’ve got an iPhone and iPad so it would make sense me also owning a Mac but they’re a bit too pricey. Maybe one day I’ll change but since I mostly only use it for blogging it’s not worth investing too much money.
Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse? (or kind gesture from a friend)
A former colleague of mine (also a blogger) gave me really nice feedback in her exit interview as she left work. It made my month and I teared up a little bit reading it. Positive feedback is its the best when it comes as a suprise. Not the actual feedback but the timing of the delivery.
I think I’ve answered this question before at some point and my answer is the same. There’s a Swedish singer I really like – Jill Johnson. She seems so down to earth, she’s gorgeous and she can really sing. If I knew her I think we could be really good friends.
Which blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?
I don’t think I have that feeling with any of the bloggers I already know or are familiar with. No offence at all but if we’re meant to be best friends, it’ll happen.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Friends and family. No matter what, they’re always there for me and I for them.
What is your favourite blog to read?
Too many to choose from. I love a lot of blogs that I take inspiration from. I don’t have one I religiously read every post of. I like food blogs, lifestyle blogs (surprise), fashion, beauty, travel, interior – all of them!
What is your favourite high street shop?
H&M! They get me every time.
Are you in education or do you work?
I work, full time, and have been doing so for the last 7 years now. Yep, I’m old, ha!
One thing you are proud of?
I’m proud of the person I am. We all have flaws but I’m learning to deal with mine and to be honest, I could be a lot worse. I’m excited if I’ll stay as happy and positive throughout my whole life. This year I’m proud I reached my goal of completing a 10k in 60 minutes!
Turns out, answering questions about myself was harder than I thought. Some of them put me off but I’ve done it because if I’m anything, I’m sure not a cheater or quitter. I hope you enjoyed this post and feel that you got to know me a little bit better. Now to the part where I have to tag another 5 bloggers to do the same. I’d like to pass on the challenge to Charlotte, Carolin, Bex, Emma and Victoria.
