    One of the reasons I love living in Leeds is that you’re only a few minutes away from the countryside. At the start of the bank holiday weekend, I discovered a new area: Scarcroft. It’s a village north east of Leeds, on the way to Wetherby. Prior to being sent an invitation to The New Inn, I had no idea this place existed. In fact, I confused it with Seacroft. Can you blame me?     Ottenby Nature Reserve

    Ottenby Nature Reserve is a place in the south of Öland, the island where I was born. I haven’t been to Ottenby since I was a child and I believe we went with school to learn more about their bird observatory. Many years later, yes I’m old, I was back to experience the area as a grown up. It only takes a couple of hours to get there by car. Well, that depends on where you live.
