    My Record Collection

Hands up if you’ve got a vinyl player (waving hands) and a record collection. I have one because I like retro things and I love the sound it produces. No, it’s not better than modern technology but it’s different, in a good way. I got my record player last year and playing records from back when I was a teen has brought back so many fun memories. The other month, I went to the record fair in Leeds Kirkgate Market with Michelle and managed to triple my record collection, and more. If I had the budget, I’d go a lot more often. I found a couple for a very cheap pound…

    My 5 Pick-Me-Up Songs

We all have our ups and downs. I try not to let my downs last for a long time. Usually I’m alright after a couple of hours, the next day or just after listening to the best songs. I’ve listed my top 5 list of pick-me-up songs in this post. I’m by no means only allowed to listen to these when I’m a little low, they’re great for any occasion but especially to set a good mood. 1. Common People – Pulp This song brings so many memories from my teens and early twenties. I love the song and so does my best friend. When it comes on, she’s the first…

    Finishing off Summer with OnRoundhay

Wow, September has treated us with some gorgeous weather. I’m prepared to say September is the best summer month here in Leeds and on Saturday, it was as gorgeous as ever, making OnRoundhay the perfect way to finish off summer. This was the first year running for OnRoundhay so I didn’t know what to expect in detail more than there would be lots of food, music and activities going on. I honestly think they’ve outdone themselves: it was well planned, the set up looked gorgeous and there was plenty of stuff to get on with, making the day go really quickly. I was lucky enough to go with Louise and…

  • OnRoundhay street food

All the food I can’t wait to eat at OnRoundhay!

Who else is excited for John Lewis to soon open up in Leeds? The date has been set later this October but we’ll already see them this month. John Lewis has partnered up with Leeds Indie Food and OnRoundhay for a festive day in Roundhay Park next weekend (17th September) – eek! OnRoundhay Festival, will be the only festival I’ll attend this year but I have a feeling it’ll be a good one. Live music, family friendly activities and most importantl, mouthwatering food. Can it get any better? Here’s where you’ll find me on the day if you’re going (psst, you totally should!). UPDATE! Unfortunately, some of the street food vendors mentioned…

  • Downtown Nashville

    Downtown Nashville At Night

Have you ever been to Blackpool on a wild night out? I haven’t but apparently that’s the closest way of describing how a night out in Downtown Nashville is like. I guess people who have been to both reference the tourism and drunk hen and stag do parties. All I’ve heard before and seen on TV about Nashville is that a night out on Broadway involves going from bar to bar, listening to live country music in every place – and that’s exactly what it is! Every pub has bands playing all day long, different bands and different time slots. Some bars are more popular than others to play at and…
