• Bongo's Bingo Leeds

    Bongo’s Bingo + Oktoberfest = Fun Carnage!

Bongo’s Bingo*, a crazy event you have to experience at least once in your lifetime. Why play bingo in silence when you can on the highest volume? Like Bonkers Bingo, this isn’t for the prude or sedentary. For my first time going Bongo’s Bingo, normally hosted at Canal Mills in Leeds, relocated to the Oktoberfest tent for one night only and according to regulars, a good choice in doing so. I’ve experienced a great night out at South Bank Depot previously, at last year’s Oktoberfest. Both Oktoberfest and Bingo’s Bongo Leeds are crazy nights out so why not combine the two. With tickets sold out, there was a full house (see…

    Biscuit Decorating with Bloom Bakers

On a very windy night, myself and a handful other bloggers visited Bloom Bakers at Carousel in Headingley. Carousel a rotating cafe which hosts various pop ups and workshops throughout the year. Bloom Bakers is a Germanic biscuit  and cake baking duo (Lisa & Saskia) who had set up their Christmas biscuit decorating workshop. On arrival, the tables were set up with individual workstations, including rolling pins, decorating props, icing and food colouring. It all looked so colourful and inviting! After a cup of spicy hot chocolate, I was ready to get stuck in. Saskia and Lisa had already prebaked the biscuits for us which cut out a lot of…

Play for Peace with The Body Shop

As Halloween and Bonfire Night are out of the way, we can all focus on Christmas. There’s already been a couple of local Christmas themed blogger events and the most recent I went to is The Body Shop’s yearly festive shenanigans. I love The Body Shop so much, especially around Christmas. Last year they celebrated Leeds being their UK flagship store, and being against animal cruelty. This year’s theme is ‘Play for Peace’ where most products have a playful element to the presentation boxes they’re presented in. For each product bought, a donation goes to the International Alert’s Peace Play Project who helps Syrian refugee children. The Body Shop have already…

  • Be At One Boar Lane

Be At One Bar Became Two in Leeds

Leeds truly loves cocktails so I’m not surprised that Be At One Cocktail Bar decided for Leeds to be the first city outside of London with two bars. The one on Millennium Square has been open for a while now but I’ve never been to it. If I’m honest, I’ve confused it with the next door bar: All Bar One. Can you blame me? Setting foot in their second location on Boar Lane, and trying samples of 10 or so of their cocktails, I’ll never mix these two bars up again. Be At One is a cocktail bar through and through. Yes, they have a couple of bottled beers should…

  • Leeds Loves Cocktails

    Leeds Loves Cocktails (5th – 11th June)

Leeds Loves Cocktails is back for their fifth year of educating us to “Drink Better, Not More”. Nick Fox and his team of industry experts is showcasing Leeds bar talent, by combining quality spirit brands and classy cocktails. What makes this year’s event stand out from previous events is that it’s promising to bring more fun. After attending the press launch (held at Headrow House), I really get the emphasis on having fun as we definitely had just that. The pre-launch evening let us learn more about the event itself, their signature cocktails and making our own cocktails with the chance of it being sold during the main event. The…
