• Hive Leeds

Hive | Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Cafe

There’s a new café in Leeds called Hive and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. If I had a job in city centre I’d probably come here a lot but sadly I work outside of town. Another sad thing is they’re not open during the weekend which is when I’d love to have a nearby breakfast place to call my local. I do get it though, the Wellington Place in Leeds mainly consists of offices rather than flats which means their main customers will be business people. I am thankful they’re open till late hours so even I can fit in a dinner here on a weeknight. My first visit however…

My Top 5 Events to Experience at #LIF17

It’s that time of the year again, it’s time for the Leeds Indie Food Festival (#LIF17) which this year is of course better and also more professional. It feels like only yesterday I was checking out which events not to miss at last year’s festival. Sadly, I did miss the “Chef” event at Belgrave and I will this year too as the tickets have already sold out – boo! Luckily, the festival has lots more to offer and I’ve listed my top five recommendations. Alfred’s Meanwood – Dinnerbox I used to live in Meanwood but I never went out for food. to be fair, the area is limited in restaurants to…

Soap Factory | Upping the Hotel Bar Game

Have you ever been to a hotel bar? Did it give a positive lasting impression? I know I have been but I can’t really remember them. Why would you attend an hotel bar unless staying at the hotel? Even then, there will be more fun bars to explore when visiting a new place. Soap Factory in Leeds is here to change that. The bar is part of Novotel, located at Wellington Place (near the train station) but it doesn’t look anything like a hotel bar. At the soft launch evening, soap bubbles were flying about outside the entrance and it looked like so much fun and inviting to go in.…

Afternoon Tea at Jameson’s Café & Tea Rooms

Do you remember a while ago when I went to Lighthouse Union Store’s speed friending event? You might recall I was also the lucky winner of an afternoon tea treat for two from Jameson’s Café & Tea Room. They had kindly donated it as a prize in the evening’s raffle and my name was drawn out of the bag!!! I was very surprised and thrilled to have won this and during my mum’s visit, I finally got to go. Jameson’s Café & Team Rooms only have two branches: Roundhay in Leeds which we went to and the original café in Sheffield. Because they’re not a massive chain, it feels even nicer…

  • Weekly Update #16

    Weekly Update #16

A short weekly update this time. When you’re reading this, I’m on my way to the US for a two week holiday. The first stop is Chicago and the second half will be spent in Nashville. The TV-show with the same name is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine and I’m so excited to actually go to the city where the show is set. Anyway, back to this week and what I’ve been up to. Experienced new drinks I was sent two bottles of Aloe Refresh from Grace*; with two flavours I’ve never tried before. The first time I tried an Aloe Vera drink was in New York a couple of…
