• Champagne Afternoon Tea Hotel du Vin York

Champagne Afternoon Tea at Hotel du Vin in York

York is a city I try to visit at least once a year. Although I have my favourite spots (hello cheap as peas pints at Kings Arms) there’s always something new to discover every time I return. During mine and my mum’s visit earlier this month, no different. We walked the wall from the Micklegate Bar entrance for the first time. We enjoyed a gin in Thor’s teepee to celebrate Sweden’s national day. We came across stunning wall art on Back Swinegate which I’ve not seen before. Most importantly, we enjoyed a delicious luxury afternoon tea at Hotel du Vin. Hotel du Vin & Bistro York Hotel du Vin is…

  • Slug & Lettuce Tipsy Afternoon Tea

Tipsy Afternoon Tea at Slug & Lettuce

With International Tea Day being celebrated this weekend, Slug & Lettuce invited me to try out one of their afternoon tea options. Their new venue in Leeds is definitely worth a visit. They have recently taken over where Yates used to be on Boar Lane and the transformation is incredible. I never set my foot in Yates but I doubt it ever looked as classy, pretty and tasteful as Slug & Lettuce. It’s quite different to their location at Park Row, more hip is the best word to describe it. It’s a vibrant place with lots of fun decor in a monochrome and pinkish colour scheme. Their birdcage booths are adorable,…

  • Where to Eat in Leeds

From Breakfast to Dinner | Where to Eat in Leeds

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know that I go out to eat in Leeds a lot and try new places. It’s great because when I get visitors coming over, like my parents the other weekend, I know where to take them. My parents have visited before but what seems like a million new places have popped up since then. We ate out a lot over the four days that they were here so I thought I’d share a post with some of our highlights. Breakfast at If Coffee If Coffee is a recent discovery of mine and I love it here. It’s so pretty with all…

  • Afternoon Tea at Crafthouse

Afternoon Tea at Crafthouse in Leeds

I keep a list of bars and restaurants in Leeds I’d like to visit and try their specialities. One being afternoon tea at Crafthouse, with free-flowing prosecco. It’s been on my list since Easter when I read blog posts from Victoria and Em Sheldon visiting and I thought it looked really delicious. And for a couple of extra pounds, drink as much prosecco as I can, what’s not to like? A few weeks back, Charlotte and I took an afternoon off work to experience it ourselves and I can happily tick it off my ‘To Visit” list. Crafthouse is located in Trinity, on the third floor, with views over the Holy…

  • Jameson's Cafe & Tea Rooms

Afternoon Tea at Jameson’s Café & Tea Rooms

Do you remember a while ago when I went to Lighthouse Union Store’s speed friending event? You might recall I was also the lucky winner of an afternoon tea treat for two from Jameson’s Café & Tea Room. They had kindly donated it as a prize in the evening’s raffle and my name was drawn out of the bag!!! I was very surprised and thrilled to have won this and during my mum’s visit, I finally got to go. Jameson’s Café & Team Rooms only have two branches: Roundhay in Leeds which we went to and the original café in Sheffield. Because they’re not a massive chain, it feels even nicer…
