This year I’ve been to two weddings, both very different but all the same very happy and fun. The best bit was that I could get away with wearing the same outfit to both as the guest lists were different.
Affordable wedding outfit dress
I wanted to find and wear a dress that I know I will be able and want to wear again to other occasions and also I’d like it to be affordable. At first I didn’t think that would be possible but I managed to find the perfect dress. I normally don’t shop online as I like to try clothes before purchasing but I gave it a go and success. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a dress that fits me so perfectly.
I really like how this dress hides the bits I want but enhances the better bits, especially the waist thanks to the cut. Because I’m short sometimes the cut is too low down but on this dress it fits perfect. The neckline is very low but it shows the cleavage in a classy way so no risk to look trashy. The knee hight length makes me look a bit longer than I actually am, although the heels also helps with that.
Dress – bonprix
Clutch bag – Forever 21
Shoes – New Look
Keeping accessories to the minimum
As the dress and its colours are very summery I decided to let it speak for itself and keep accessories to the minimum. I invested in a pair of black lace wedges as I know I cannot wear stilettos and although I love chunky heels they do start to hurt after a while. These shoes will last me a long time and can be worn together with many outfits. The clutch bag is one of my favourites and it was the best buy when doing late night shopping in New York a few years back.
I kept my nails very minimalistic too, mimicking the bow around my waist and the black accessories. As for my hair I kept it simple, adding a summer touch with fake flowers in the same colours, white and coral.
What do you think? What have you been wearing at weddings this year?
