There’s a new restaurant in Leeds, what a big surprise! The keep popping up and I’m trying to keep up visiting them all. Latest for me and only a couple of weeks old – Smokin’ Bar & Kitchen.
What you see is what you get, a bar and kitchen serving smoking BBQ food. They’ve opened up in Around The World in 80 Beers old venue, above Bierkeller and under Shooters Sports Bar. It’s about time this venue has a decent restaurant to go to and I’m glad the stairs up to the sports bar has relocated to the entrance so that’s all they share. Smokin’ Bar & Kitchen also has an entrance facing Park Row.
I am happy to straight away learn they’re not as pricey for drinks as the other bars in the area such as Manahatta and The Neighbourhood. The food price is also very reasonable, especially for the amount and quality you get. The menu is small which I like, there’s less opportunities to fail. The drinks menu is relatively short as well, but it offers something to everyone’s taste. The cocktails are around £5 and some of them can be enjoyed as dessert or breakfast? as well. How cute is this Blueberry Breakfast with a decorative mini pancake? Americano Short Root is my favourite.
On this occasion, I went for a burger because let’s face it, when can you go wrong with a burger? It’s the food industry’s little black dress. And, I wasn’t wrong here, a gorgeously cooked Smoked Beef Patty is what I ordered and received. Charlotte’s Fully Loaded didn’t look too shabby at all so if you’re starving going here, I’d suggest to go for that. Or if you prefer chicken and ribs, Lizi’s choice of a plate loaded with Ribs & Wings will keep your heart’s content.
The selection of sides ranges from the unsurprising fries and onion rings to moreish Chilli and Garlic Infused Greens. I wanted to try the sweet potato fries but they weren’t available when I went. The more reason to come back. The interior, pricing and cool bathroom sinks are other reasons.
Have you had a chance to visit Smokin’ Bar & Kitchen yet? They’re soon opening up in Manchester as well so plenty of options up north.
*I was kindly invited by PGHL to enjoy this meal and cocktails, in return for this post. All views are my own.
