AD | PR invite*. During lockdown, I’ve stopped wearing as much makeup on a daily basis. I’ve only applied a bit of BB cream and then I’m ready to head to work I sit down at my home desk ready for work. After having Russian volume lashes done, I haven’t felt the need to apply any makeup at all. It’s fantastic how nice lashes makes your eyes pop so much there is no need for any makeup to look and feel great.
I was blown away with the results of the Russian lash extensions I had done at LashLab by Bianka. They look so natural!!! I have never tried Russian lashes before but if and when I have my lashes done again, this is definitely the style I’m going for. For special occasions, when I fancy a bit of extra volume, I’ll use my magnetic lashes.
What are Russian lashes
Russian volume lashes is a multi-lash technique. Because the lashes are much thinner than other types of lash extensions, it means you can apply more than one to each natural lash. They’re usually applied in a fan-like shape and because they’re so lightweight they tend to last longer. Russian lashes are made of different ultra-fine synthetic fibers, synthetic Mink being the most popular.
How long do Russian lashes last
Russian lashes tend to last as long as a natural lash cycle (4-6 weeks). You can have infills added when you feel like they’re starting to thin out. Natural lashes don’t all fall off at the same time. If you’re really careful with the lashes, they’ll last longer. Don’t wash them for the first 24 hours to make sure they’ll hold longer. Don’t use oil products on them either as that’ll weaken and remove the glue they’re applied with. Bianka gave me a mascara brush to brush the lashes with daily as it’s good for them.
Mine looked amazing the first couple of weeks and it wasn’t until the fourth week that I started to apply mascara on them and my natural lashes to make them look fuller again. Using Micellar water on them to remove the mascara has caused more lashes to fall off sooner. I’m on week five now and I still have a couple of lashes left.
LashLab by Bianka
I had my Russian lash extensions made by Bianka at LashLab in Leeds. She’s based on York Road, near the Karpaty Food Centre. It’s a small studio that she opened up late last year and she’s already got her regulars. The Russian volume lashes are £45 which I think is a really good price. I have seen other beauty salons charge up to double that.
Bianka was really gentle applying the lashes for me. I could hardly feel it happening. It took around 1-2 hours in total. If you go back regularly for infills, each appointment won’t take as long. The price for infill is £30-40 depending on how many lashes need adding.
I can highly recommend Bianka if you’re looking to have your lashes done. She’s professional, super sweet, careful and gentle applying the lashes and the price is excellent. I’ll be going back! Aside from eyelash extensions, Bianka offers many other beauty treatments like eyelash lift and tint, eyebrow shape and tint, waxing, and facial.

Wow they look amazing on you! I know so many people who get them (or did before the virus) but I’m not brave enough!
