Ad | Gifted*. I’ve shared this easy protein pancake recipe on my Instagram account already but thought it would be nice to share here as well. For those who might not follow me on social media. When I was sent different powders from Bioglan and Haskapa, I thought using them in pancakes would be a great idea. Both are optional, you don’t need them to make the pancakes but they worked really well for the flavours I wanted.

Bioglan’s Digestive Boost powder is a microbiome-friendly blend with live bacteria and fibre, which aids the function of digestive enzymes in the gut. Each serving (1 tsp) includes 500 million live cultures and inulin.

Haskapa’s berry powder is made with haskap berries, the new super berry. This because it has eight times more anthocyanins and up to three times more antioxidants than blueberries, with anthocyanins and antioxidants being the health promoting benefits. For each 100g Haskapa pouch made, over 1,000 berries are freezed.

Protein Pancake Recipe

Making protein pancakes is super easy, you only need seven ingredients. You can change some of them to give the pancakes different flavours. For example, I’ve used strawberry, chocolate and vanilla protein shakes and I’ve swapped powders from vanilla to cherry and flavours from almond to chocolate.

The below recipes both make 5-6 pancakes in each batch and they’re around 277 kcal in total. That’s so little but because they’re jam packed with protein, you’ll stay full for a very long time. They’re perfect if you want to treat yourself to a nice breakfast whilst staying healthy.

Ingredients

Strawberry & Vanilla Pancakes

50 ml strawberry protein shake
1 sashet natural porridge
1 egg
3 tbsp protein yoghurt
1 tsp Bioglan vanilla fibre boost powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract

Cherry Bakewell Pancakes

50 ml vanilla protein shake
1 sashes natural porridge
1 egg
3 tbsp protein yoghurt
1 tsp Haskapa berry powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp almond extract

How to Make Protein Pancakes

1. Mix all seven ingredients together in a bowl
2. Let rest for 10 or so minutes
3. Fry pancakes in a small frying pan
4. Serve with any topping of your liking

I topped the Strawberry & Vanilla Pancakes with vanilla yoghurt and fresh strawberries. The Cherry Bakewell Pancakes are topped with cherry yoghurt and fresh cherries. Sprinkle with shaved almonds as well if you have some.

How do you make your protein pancakes? There are other recipes out there using banana. I’ve yet to try one of those. What’s your favourite pancake topping? For a more indulgent pancake recipe, check out what I made for pancake day.
