Where I am at with my Goals for 2019

We’re well into half of this year. Where has 2019 gone? I usually ask myself this question around this time of year. Summer tends to be a busier time of year for happenings and when weekends ahead are filled up with plans, it’s easy to think ahead of time and feeling like the year is soon coming to an end. But no!, we’ve still got plenty of time left. There is no need to panic if goals set at the beginning of the year aren’t met yet, or haven’t even begun to take place. Let’s take a look and see where I am at with my goals for 2019. Goals…

  • Arts Restaurant Leeds

Arts in Leeds | Where Food Portraits Like a Piece of Art

Arts Restaurant, former known as Arts Cafe, on Call Lane has a new head chef and I was invited to try their new menu, before its official launch. Arts has been around for 20 odd years and I’ve been a couple of times before. It’s the perfect lunch spot during a full day of shopping but at night turns into a cosy high end restaurant. It’s actually interesting how it’s doing so well, surrounded by mainly bars, but the truth is, the food is too good not to come back for more. If I thought the food was great when it was Arts Cafe, Simon Turner’s new menu is that…

How My Hair Grew 3 cm in a Month

Have you ever come out of the hair dressers with your hair a lot shorter than you anticipated or asked for? I have and it makes me cry!! During my recent hairdresser visit, I was the one who asked for something different to what we normally do. I asked for short hair. I did however not ask for such short hair that I got so started crying on my way home. As the Brit I now am, I didn’t have the heart to say at the hairdressers. I was lucky my hair was long enough to tie back whilst undergoing a fast hair growth regime. For anyone else who’d like…

Champagne Afternoon Tea at Hotel du Vin in York

York is a city I try to visit at least once a year. Although I have my favourite spots (hello cheap as peas pints at Kings Arms) there’s always something new to discover every time I return. During mine and my mum’s visit earlier this month, no different. We walked the wall from the Micklegate Bar entrance for the first time. We enjoyed a gin in Thor’s teepee to celebrate Sweden’s national day. We came across stunning wall art on Back Swinegate which I’ve not seen before. Most importantly, we enjoyed a delicious luxury afternoon tea at Hotel du Vin. Hotel du Vin & Bistro York Hotel du Vin is…

  • The Brunswick Leeds

Burgering Up at The Brunswick in Leeds

A burger is always a safe bet if nothing else on the menu stands out but sometimes all you want is a burger. If that’s the case, I can highly recommend going to The Brunswick in Leeds. Just on the outskirts of city centre this corner pub offers a wide variety of local and international beers and serves seasonal locally sourced food. At the moment, they have a killer burger menu with a generous Wednesday offer: beer, burger and chips for a tenner. The Brunswick Burgers You may have seen one of my latest Instagram posts saying I’ve had the best burger ever. The beef burger at The Brunswick comes…
