The other week, myself and some fellow Leeds bloggers attended Nourish’s Spring menu event. I have actually never been to Nourish before. I’ve walked past a couple of times but never took the time to enter. I’m very thankful for beeing invited to their menu launch and discovering all the greatness they have to offer.
I for one, really need to get better with my food. I do a lot of exercise, walking and running to and from work, but if only I also ate properly I think I would be a lot healthier person. Nourish is a great place to help if you want to make changes to your diet and find out that there’s so much more to a salad than greens.
On arrival, the manager showed us to the back of the restaurant where we hung out for the evening. The restaurant is decorated lovely with a fresh atmosphere which matches the menu. The back of the room has fake grass floor and wall. It felt like the outdoors, only picnic blankets missing. The wooden tables and benches add to the outdoor feeling and they’re also the perfect background for taking nice blogging images.
Nourish Spring Menu
I didn’t expect such an extensive menu, nor that we would be able to try so many of the dishes on offer. First off, whilst mingling, we were treated to two lovely smoothies. The first, Strawberry Rhubarb, had a lovely fruity taste but after a while got quite sour. The second, Berry Kombucha, was my favourite with a refreshing and uplifting taste.
We got to try four cold salads and three warm dishes from the new menu.
Mediterranean Sun Box | Lift Yourself Box | Duck Bang Bang | Pea and Falafel
Italian meatballs | Beef Rendang | Chicken and Red Pepper Tangine
I have trouble to decide my favourite; they’re all amazing and it felt like it just got better and better as the evening went on. I did really enjoy the second salad as I love beetroot, the duck salad was amazing too and anything with lemon flavours, like the turkey meatballs, and I’m all over it! Some didn’t care for the first salad having so much garlic but I think that’s what made the dish!
What Nourish Is About
In total, we indulged in 7 dishes and that’s not even half of the menu. Nourish have so much to offer; breakfast, hot food, cold salads, desserts so there’s plenty of opportunity for everyone to find their favourite dish. I have never experienced a place with these many healthy options, have you? It just goes to show what Nourish is really about; eat healthy and be happy!
At the end of the event, David Stache, talked us through his vision of Nourish, how it all got started and some hints for the future. It’s inspiring to hear his passion as a nutritionist and how he, together with great chefs and staff, wants to make a difference; show the government that the UK can be a healthy people. Nourish currently have a restaurant in Leeds and one in Sheffield but looking to expand.
Thank you so much for the invite and for taking care of us so well. It was a nice night meeting new bloggers and seeing familiar faces.
Have you been to Nourish? Do you know any other healthy restaurants to recommend?
