I can’t believe I lived for two long months without owning a perfume!!! I love perfumes but they can easily burn a big hole in your pocket investing in them. Starting this year, I’ve invested in a lot of new fragrances and also tried new scents for my hair and lips.
The Body Shop and DKNY Fragrances
I’m part of The Body Shop Sampling Programme and I love it. I’m a big The Body Shop junkie as it is so to be able to try out new products from them is heaven. Earlier this month I was sent their new White Musk Leue EdT and it looks so pretty. Any fresh pale pastel colours in fragrances and I’m hooked. They automatically look so fresh, without having to smell them. I think White Musk is the first fragrance I came across from the Body Shop and I would be surprised if it goes out of production any time soon. This version has a fruity kick to it which I love and the best bit – it’s vegan friendly!
DKNY Green Apple has been a favourite of mine for years. I’ve bought it on a couple of occasions but this time around, I stepped out of my comfort zone and bought a version of the red apple instead (I can see the shock on your faces) – Fresh Blossom Crystallized. For Christmas and my birthday I also got a new version of the green apple (phew, I don’t have to feel like a traitor) – Be Desired. I love both of these fragrances, probably because of the hints of grapefruit in both. I love the freshness; the pink with a trace of more floral tones and the green towards fruity hints.
Neäl & Wølf Hair & Body Fragrance and Hand & Body Lotion
I’ve never heard of Neäl & Wølf* before and receiving a couple of products of theirs to try, I would say it caters for a slightly older demographic. I find these fragrances a bit too dark and mature for my liking. Aura Hair & Body Fragrance has ingredients like lily, orchid and saffron and Revive Hand & Body Lotion shea butter and passionflower HOWEVER, after using both these products a while, I have come to like them and use frequently in my bed time routine. I find both the body & hair spray and the hand & body lotion giving a calm and soothing affect – perfect for a nice night’s sleep.
Candescent Lip Balms
If there’s anything I can’t leave my flat without, it’s a lip balm. I need to moisturise my lips on a regular basis but I wouldn’t class myself as using it excessively. Using it too much and it contradicts the purpose but for me it’s more of protecting my lips from the weather outside, whether it’s sunny, ice cold, windy or dry. All these conditions seem to give me cold sores if I’m not careful applying a layer of lip balm on my lips before walking out. I don’t have a particular favourite when it comes to lip balms, as long as they do the job.
The latest balm on my lips are from Candescent, a new and fun lip balm company. I love these little tin lip balms*, too cute, and the flavours are really nice as well; orange and cherry. I’ve tried hard not to lick my lips too much. What I like the most is the texture, almost like soft wax and it stays on your lips for a long time.
Tell me, what are your fragrance and scent favourites? Here’s to a lovely scented 2017!
