I’ve finally been to my first big blogger event that wasn’t organised by a brand, but by a blogger. Rihanna did a great job organising the #LeedsXmasMeet the other week. I know that a lot of planning has gone into it and I think, from her own post, that she’s happy with the outcome.
The event was held at The Black Swan in Leeds. I’ve never been there before but will definitely come back. After the ‘Battle of the Burger‘ event over summer I know they make delicious burgers and I really liked the vibe of the place as soon as I arrived.
The blogger meet was booked out at the second floor with a big room for all of us to mingle and a smaller room where the bar was. It was Saturday daytime so I treated myself to a Sham Bellini (peach and apple Schnapps and Prosecco) and later a glass of rosé.
When I first heard that there was going to be a table dedicated to Christmas crafts I got really excited. Unfortunately Rhianna had been let down by the craft lady delivering the supplies but Carianne from Beauties Unlocked saved the day arranging for us all to decorate our own cupcakes. When I sat down I got creative blocks so I ended up only making a simple angel. Other bloggers impressed me by creating penguins, snow men and other Christmas inspired things in 3D.
Rhianna had also organised a massive raffle where all the money we bought tickets for went to charity. I never win raffles but it’s not the point to win really. Some amazing prizes though and I’m happy for everyone who did win, congrats!
It was a It was nice seeing some known faces at the event, meeting new (to me) local bloggers and also finally get to meet bloggers who I speak to on social media and read blogs by. Thank you Rhianna for organising.
Have you been to a Christmas blogger meet? Did I miss you at the #LeedsXmasMeet?
