Have you ever come out of the hair dressers with your hair a lot shorter than you anticipated or asked for? I have and it makes me cry!! During my recent hairdresser visit, I was the one who asked for something different to what we normally do. I asked for short hair. I did however not ask for such short hair that I got so started crying on my way home. As the Brit I now am, I didn’t have the heart to say at the hairdressers. I was lucky my hair was long enough to tie back whilst undergoing a fast hair growth regime. For anyone else who’d like to know how to grow hair faster than normal, here’s what I did.
Mane ‘n Tale Shampoo and Conditioner
I remember seeing Mane ‘n Tale‘s shampoo and conditioner in the news a couple of years ago and I laughed. Reading plenty of reviews and seeing high rated stars next to them, I wasn’t laughing this time. I bought a set of the shampoo and conditioner, imagining it would smell bad but something I’d just have to power through. It actually doesn’t smell bad at all. If you imagined smelling like coming out of a horse stable after using these products, you couldn’t be more wrong. It might not be the best smell but it’s very subtle and with a freshness to it.
It is recommended to properly massage in the shampoo from scalp to ends. Massaging it in warms up the head and root making it easier for hair to grow. The conditioner should be left in for a minute or so before rinsing but you can also leave it in over night. I never did this as I find my hair going really greasy when I’ve tried leave in conditioners previously.
Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment
When asking on social media how to grow hair faster, I was recommended this product by a couple of people. People I have met before and I know I can trust. I know that Lee Stafford has a wide range of hair products so again, I read up on reviews and again, this specific treatment has got lots of praise. The shampoo and conditioner not so much, hence why I went with the horse shampoo instead.
This treatment is recommended to use in between shampooing and conditioning, to leave in for 5 minutes. For the first week, during every hair wash and after that, only once a week is enough. This product has a bit of an unpleasant smell (stings in your nose) but because it’s rinsed and a conditioner is used afterwards, it doesn’t make your hair smell.
Solgar Biotin Capsules
To make sure I was doing everything I could, I also invested in some biotin capsules to take daily. I noticed that these also improved my nail condition, making them stronger but I didn’t notice a faster nail growth so I can’t say for sure they improved the hair growth either, but definitely strengthen it.
I used the above products for a month and my hair grew 3 centimetres in this time. On average, hair only grows 1.25 cm a month which means I’d had to wait slightly over two months before reaching this length. Two months has now passed since I had my hair cut and I almost feel like it’s time to go back to the hairdressers again. Only for a trim and slight shape, never to cut it as short again.
Have you ever tried any of these products for hair growth and strengthening? Have you got any other products to recommend? I bought the hair products in Boots and the tablets at Holland & Barrett.
