Do you remember when I said I need to practise my posing? Well, I still do! However, on this occasion, my friend only took a handful of images and these are the ones you’ll see. We didn’t have much time and I also felt very awkward posing in the middle of the street with people passing by. The reason I wanted to show you this outfit is because I haven’t had a chance to feature this dress before, nor the shoes and definitely not my lovely new diamond necklace.
Black Dress – Louche (Joy)
Red Shoes (older than oldest) – Bianco
Diamond Necklace* – Browns
I was so happy to land an invite to a jazzy event so I got to wear this outfit. I’ve worn the dress to two previous 20’s themed events I’ve attended and I love it but don’t feel like I can wear it to just any event. I love the cut (makes me look thinner – whoop!) and the beautiful embroidery at the neckline. It’s so much more than just a little black dress. I also love that it’s got a little bit of sleeve. I don’t like showing off my arms, I always feel the need of wearing a cardigan or the likes over strap dresses or tops.
Previously, I’ve partnered the dress with my go to heels – the black lace wedges, but this time I opted for something a bit more fun, and even more 20’s – the red heels. I’ve owned them for years and years but hardly ever worn them. That’s about to change! They don’t have as high of a heel as I thought and they’re a lot more comfier to wear than I remembered. Win, win!
Because the dress is and accessory in itself and the shoes adding lots of colour to the outfit, I kept the jewellery to a minimum. The dress might not have the best neckline to show off this beautiful diamond necklace but the diamonds sure was the best fit for the night. There will be a post on the event I went to wearing all this next week, so stay tuned! Back to the necklace, it’s difficult to go unnoticeable. It’s so elegant and brings life to any kind of outfit. I’ve never worn real diamonds before (eeek! little me wearing real diamonds!) but certainly won’t stop now, I’m in love with this. I suppose it’s not for nothing Marilyn Monroe said “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”.
What is your touch of silver? Have you ever worn real diamonds? I’m really scared of loosing this necklace but it won’t stop me wearing it. Such a beautiful necklace should not be left in a jewellery box.
