December is the month made for cosy nights in. It’s dark outside but getting brighter indoors with all the candles and Christmas trees lit up. It feels extra cosy and christmassy to snuggle up on a night like this. I love a blanket over me all year round but during December and the cold months it’s a must. The best cosy nights are when I can stay on the sofa all night, watching great TV and not moving an inch all evening.
When Keelham Farm Shop got in touch wanting to send me one of their foodie gift boxes I immediately said yes. I was thrilled to see they’d sent me their ‘Cosy Night In’ box* which includes everything I needed for a nice evening in prepping for Christmas; slipper socks, mug, baked in mug brownie, salted caramel chocolate bar, hot chocolate and mini marshmallows.
Best bit? Well, all these treats are close to home being made in Yorkshire. So far I’ve only had chance to try on the Millie Mae Slipper Socks, the mug and Cartwright & Butler Milk Drinking Chocolate. They made a great trio for an evening on the sofa writing Christmas cards. A well spent third advent and I hope to do it soon again, minus the Christmas cards and only focus on me and good TV ;).
I’ve never come across hot chocolate in the form of small milk chocolate balls before. I’ve only ever had cocoa powder mixed in milk. It’s more fun with the balls (novelty) and the taste is richer which is great. You only need two teaspoons a mug so this jar will last me a while.
I don’t have a microwave so I might have to give away the Baked in Mug Brownie to someone special but the salted caramel chocolate bar sounds far too good to give away.
The slipper socks are so cute. At first I didn’t think they’d keep my feet warm enough as they’re quite thin and also leaves most of the upper feet bare but they’re really cosy and gets the job done. They have anti slip soles with rubber dots underneath and I love that so much because I’ve got laminate flooring which is easy to slip on if you’re not careful. I don’t like socks so much, only in shoes but not to walk around in on their own so these slippers are perfect for me.
Keelham have loads of gift boxes to choose from; perfect if you haven’t found that Christmas gift yet. There’s something for everyone – only criteria is that they like food and drinks and who doesn’t?
What’s your typical cosy night in? Have you started writing your Christmas cards?
