Christmas Makeup

Just like Rudolf has a red nose, I’m planning to celebrate Christmas with red lips. I’ve tried red lipsticks before and I kind of like it but none of them really stuck with me to be worn regularly. In The Body Shop’s latest makeup collection, they have a selection of matte lipglosses and at their Leeds store relaunch I was recommended the red shade – ‘Sydney Amaryllis’. Seeing it on, I knew it would be perfect for this year’s Christmas shenanigans. It’s a subtler red shade to what I’ve tried before and I think that’s why I like this more.

Now that I’m braving it wearing red lips, I might as well let them be in focus so the rest of the makeup I’m keeping very subtle, only the necessities. I normally put makeup on next to the window as it gives me natural light, in summer time… In darker times like this, I’m so happy to have been sent this LED Magnifying mirror* from Pebble Grey. The light it gives is perfect to make sure both eyes and both eyebrows get the same amount of makeup, shading and end up looking more or less the same. I love the magnifying mirrored glass (very scary at first) because I see absolutely every little straw I want to pick when doing my eyebrows, even the fair ones. This mirror is a great addition to my makeup routine, I feel like I’ll be walking out better looking than ever before.

As usual, I’m using The Body Shop Instablur range, for face and eyes. I love it so much, this is the best primer products I’ve ever used! I’ve got a new mascara, from Keiko. I received it in a goody bag so might never have bought it myself otherwise. It’s good, it gives me longer looking lashes and no lumps. For my cheeks, I use benefit’s highbeam and benetint and L’Oréal’s GlamBronze. I love benefit products so no surprise I also have a few of their brow products as well. When I put on a party/weekend look I use Ka-Brow to shape and colour and a little bit of highbeam just underneath the brows to highlight them more.

Christmas Makeup with Red Lips

Thats my finished Christmas Makeup look. What you think? I’ll be jinglebelling this look on upcoming Christmas parties (I’m attending two – whoop) and over the Christmas days. What Christmas Makeup look are you going for this year?
