I thought it would be a good idea to design some business cards for my blog. If I want to take this seriously, yes I do, there’s no time to waste but to start promoting the blog properly. Now I’ve got a whole bunch of business cards ready to be passed out to possible new readers.
vistaprint
I know that there are several great printing companies out there, MOO always get great reviews but I decided to go with vistaprint. At the moment they’ve got a great deal, 50% on all products using MARKETING50 at the checkout. This meant I opted for 250 business cards instead of a 100 which normally costs £9.99
Business Cards Design
vistaprint offer a lot of pre made designs which is great if you need a helping hand. It’s also worth looking through to get some inspiration.
I however used my own design, using the logo for the blog and the social icons. I wanted to keep the business cards as simple as the blog and obviously mirror it so that there’s no question who’s blog the business cards belong to. In order for all my information to fit nicely I opted for a portrait layout and I suppose that might stand out just a little bit from other business cards.
Mistakes pay off
I designed my cards late one evening and thought I had double checked for mistakes and typos several times, an extra time when vistaprint prompted me to do so. When I was showing my design to a colleague the following morning I noticed I’d missed out on a letter. I panicked, of course, and then got straight on the phone to vistaprint.
I lovely man picked up and sorted everything for me. vistaprint has a great customer service, not only did he rectify my mistakes but he upgraded my order for free to next day delivery (I had originally said 2-3 weeks) and he also added a business card holder for me for free. What a great service!!
What do you think of the design? Have you got business cards and where did you order yours from?

Those cards look good. I am getting some business cards soon.
Thanks! I wish had more opportunities to actually use them 🙂
