I was one of the lucky to be invited to the BSN Product Launch at Predator Nutrition in The Light in Leeds. They had arranged for famous bodybuilders, James ‘Flex’ Lewis and Carly Tierney, to attend as well and answer any questions that we would have.
We were greeted by Carly on the door and she gave us samplings of BSN new products, the pre-workout punch and the protein shake, to try. They are both very sweet so I had trouble drinking them. The punch was easier as it’s water based, the protein shake is (like you could imagine) more like a milkshake and despite the intriguing taste of salted caramel I couldn’t down it.
Unfortunately I never spoke to Carly but I know she’s got a great story to tell. She’s struggled with an eating disorder for over 15 years and now turned it around to be a bodybuilder and she’s won competitions already. Well done!!
Everything about protein supplement is new to me, it’s a whole different world to what I know when it comes to exercise and health. I had no idea that you could get protein ice cream nowadays.
Beth from Predator Nutrition informed us about the health section where they have food products high in protein and low in fats, sugars and carbs. I wonder what’s actually in them… The store also have supplements especially targeting women and other focus areas, such as building muscles and fat loss.
James ‘Flex’ Lewis
Maria from Fashion Infatuation and I got a chance to speak with James ‘Flex’ Lewis and have our pictures taken with him. Seeing him in competition pictures from before I was surprised to learn he’s quite short. Can’t argue with the muscles though, they’re very impressive!
Before we left we got a chance to enter the #TrueMass challenge. Holding two protein bags, aka 4.73kg each at shoulder hight for as long as we could. We were the first and possibly the only girls entering. It seemed easy at first but after a short time my arms started shaking and that’s when my game face was on.
Doesn’t it look like I do this every day? I ended on 55 seconds and Maria easily beat me with 1 minute 11 seconds. No difficulties guessing who of us goes to the gym.
Thank you Predator Nutrition for having us and for being so friendly. Thank you as well for the great goody bag. I can now try the strawberry protein shake (hoping it’s not as sweet), in my own shaker and when it gets warmer I’ll definitely use the tank top to show who’s strong around here. Hopefully running will be more fun and I’ll promise to make an effort beating my own time on holding heavy bags.
