We’ve all been to a bottomless brunch. If you haven’t, where have you been??!! You might not have been to the best bottomless brunch in Leeds though. I have! It’s a couple of months ago now, when Yard & Coop hosted their first Drag Queen bottomless brunch. Yes you heard right, a drag queen themed bottomless brunch. If bottomless brunches aren’t loud, fun and crazy enough, this one sure is!
I’ve been to Yard & Coop once before, just shy of a year ago for their launch party. Don’t ask me why I’ve not been back since because the food is amazing. I blame time and so many other new places opening up in Leeds. When I heard about Yard & Coop’s Bottomless Drag Brunch I was eager to go back.
For as little as £22 we were promised free flowing prosecco for 90 minutes, a choice of Chicken Waffle Burger or Buttermilk Chicken Pancakes to stuff our faces and cracking entertainment from two of Leeds best drag queens, including cabaret (lip syncing), bingo and a whole lot of banter.
The afternoon lived up to and exceeded my expectations. We indeed had free flowing prosecco from the get go. The staff are very generous with topping up the glasses and I quickly lost count in how many units I was drinking. I guess that’s the point on occasions like this.
The food is finger licking good. I already knew it would be from my previous visit but what a generous portion! The Buttermilk Chicken Pancakes (a four-pancake stack with two buttermilk fried chicken thighs, maple syrup bacon rashers, blueberries, strawberries and drizzled with maple syrup) look amazing but I’d definitely recommend to go for the Waffle Burger option: Two waffles with a buttermilk fried chicken breast, bacon, fried egg, adobo mayo and loaded tatties on the side. You still get a little bit of sweetness in the latter from the waffles and I think more food to soak up a bit of that alcohol.
The drag queens, Uma Daze and Gucci Gabore were incredible. Not a single dull moment with their banter, cabaret performance, bingo competition (with more prosecco to be won), and dancing which we all get involved in at the end of the sitting. It was hard not to sing along to all the classic songs and it is even acceptable to sit dance while eating. Where else can you do that?!
Make sure to keep an eye out for Yard & Coop’s next Drag Queen Bottomless Brunch on their news page. It’s one you don’t want to miss out on. I honestly don’t know how anyone else will be able to top this. It’s definitely the best bottomless brunch in Leeds.
Yard & Coop have a regular bottomless brunch option as well, without the drag queens to crown it. It’s the same food options but you also have two extra choice of drinks (on top of the prosecco): mimosa and lager. Even without the drag element, definitely worth going.
Which is the best bottomless brunch you have been to? Would you go to a themed brunch like this one?
