I can’t believe it’s been half a year already since I published my post on my goals for my blog and personal life at the end of this year. Although the time’s gone quick I can’t really remember all the goals in detail so I thought I’d do a mid-way update to jog mine and your memory.
Personal Goals 2016 (So Far)
Take More Pictures
I finally sold my old camera and just in time for my America trip, I invested in a new, smaller camera which I’m in love with. I’ve still not tried out all the settings but hopefully by the end o the year I’ll have time to do so and also to start the photo challenge I was planning to do for myself.
Be More Adventurous
I can’t say I’ve been very adventurous in my day to day life but I did book and go to the US for two weeks ON MY OWN so I guess that can count as adventurous. I did have family and friends to stay at but most days was spent in my own company exploring Chicago and Nashville. Most Chicago posts are written and published, only Chinatown left and then a whole new batch for Nashville.
Strengthen My Body
Apart from actually signing up to a class or do more exercise in strengthening the core of my body, I have kept up well with the running. I’ve done a 5k run already (Gung-Ho which I wrote about here) and signed up to do two 10k runs later this year. The one in October is a women’s only run and if you’d like to join, or sign up in a different city you get 15% off using this code LBJWR16 on this page.
Blog Goals for 2016 (So Far)
Blog
I have been good sticking to 2-3 posts a week. I feel that having set days I post on every weeks is helping me stay motivated and organised. I’ve got lots more post planned and I do write down all the ideas, weather on my phone, in a notebook or whatever is closest to me when the idea strikes me. I think i’m doing good here and I’m so pleased to have already reached my goal of a 20+ DA by the end of the year. In one of the most recent Moz updates, I sailed up to a whooping 22 (!!!) and have stayed there in the latest update.
As well as for my blog, posting images on a regular basis sure helps gaining followers and likes on Instagram. I set a goal which I though would be achievable before the end of the year. I can proudly say I’ve already exceeded it with a couple of followers. As it currently stands I have 768 followers which is an increase of 480 or so since I set the goal back in early January. When I look at it that way, I’ve done far better than I thought so thank you to everyone following me.
I’m far away as doing as well as I’d hoped on Twitter. I have joined Twitter chats now and again but definitely not on a regular basis as I would have hoped. I’m crap when it comes to schedule tweets so there’s no consistency but when I am on it I share my own stuff, others and join in conversations. I’ve met some new lovely people on Twitter and some even in real life so that’s fantastic. In terms of numbers, I started on 800 when I set the goal of 1,700 by the end of the year. Once again, I’ve already exceeded my goal and I now have 1,998 followers. Again, thank you ever so kindly if you read this and follow me on Twitter. I’ll be jumping of joy when I hit 2k.
Did you set any goals for 2016? If so, have you gone back to see what they are and how you’re doing so far?

Well done for reaching so many of your goals already! I set myself a few goals at the beginning of the year and apart from blogging regularly every week, I am doing very well on Instagram&Twitter. IG goes better than I hoped and Twitter, well not so much but def a plus.
Can’t wait to read your end of the year post.

Thanks! I’m very pleased but it could also have been easy as I didn’t really know what goals to set back in January so I aimed for really small ones. You’re doing great too! How good we are 😉 x
