Bargain shopping in February

4th March 2015 Leave a Comment

I did a little bit of shopping in February. With the weather being warm I felt like buying things in happy colours. I normally go for black all the time, possibly something in the grey scale. The reason is because I know I can never go wrong with black – it matches with everything.

So yes, I did buy a top from my favourite Swedish shop, Gina Tricot, and it is black but it also has some grey elements to it. Possibly I’ll do a styling shoot with it later but for now I wanted to show you the bargain shopping I also did.

Clarks handbag

I have wanted a new bag for a very long time. I love bags but still I don’t buy them as often any more. Before I could buy bags just because they looked good but now I’m a bit more picky, it still has to look good but also have a useful function so that I want to use it often.

I’ve had my current handbag for over a year. I bought it on offer in Clarks in time for our trip to New York. I wanted something that could last for a long time and could hold a few things more than wallet, keys and lipstick. I’ve used it more or less every day since but I sometimes feel it’s a bit too big.

Finally I’ve found a good substitute which I can alternate with and guess what – it’s black!! 🙂 It reminds me of a previous bag I had which I loved but this is so much better because it’s dead cheap. £8 from Primark. The size is perfect, it fits everything I need and I don’t have to feel like I’m carrying around a bag just for the sake of it.

It has two compartments, one big and one slightly smaller. in the big compartment there’s also three pockets, one zipped and two smaller for a smartphone and make-up. I’ve already used it several times and it’s a perfect bag for daily usage when I don’t need to bring packed lunch, water bottle or books for longer journeys.

New scarf

Another favourite this month is my colourful scarf from Desigual. I’ve not heard of this brand so much before. When I went to Spain last year I thought it was the Spanish name for Diesel but later found out it’s it own brand.

When I went to Sweden last month I was lucky enough to finally go into one of their shops and browse around to see what they have. Most of their products, in fact all of them are very colourful and the love patterns, especially nature influenced ones. I fell in love with a lot of things but my budget could not handle buying anything too extreme.

Colourful Desigual scarf

I found this lovely scarf and luckily for me it was on sale. Sometimes there’s nothing better than a good bargain. It turned out to be even cheaper when I was about to pay than the label had said. It’s a perfect treat for warmer months and being able to spread some happiness with bright colours. I love matching it with my new red jacket from H&M.

What do you think of my new spring finds? Did you get your hands on any bargains?
