Play for Peace with The Body Shop

As Halloween and Bonfire Night are out of the way, we can all focus on Christmas. There’s already been a couple of local Christmas themed blogger events and the most recent I went to is The Body Shop’s yearly festive shenanigans.

I love The Body Shop so much, especially around Christmas. Last year they celebrated Leeds being their UK flagship store, and being against animal cruelty. This year’s theme is ‘Play for Peace’ where most products have a playful element to the presentation boxes they’re presented in. For each product bought, a donation goes to the International Alert’s Peace Play Project who helps Syrian refugee children. The Body Shop have already donated a hefty sum.

I can’t help but love this theme, it’s so happy and playful. All the colours and all the fun! I really like the idea that the boxes are reusable as children’s games, rather than going straight in the bin. My favourite is by far the female tin robot. How fab are these? I would happily keep this as my own and not give away…

There’s another smaller tin box, shaped as a mouth, which has three matte lipstick in it that I bought. I own one of the colours already and love it so think the others would suit me as well. I’ve tried the middle colour so far and I love it. I’m thinking the darker for upcoming Christmas events. If you’re a fan of House of Holland, The Body Shop has teamed up with them in a couple of more products.

I really like The Body Shops lip balms as well. They smell amazing, give your lips a little shine and also protection. Buying a set of 4 will keep you sorted for a full year for sure. I use mine constantly and still have half the pot left. I really like the look of the glitter mist sprays this year, lovely pastel like colours. The bath bomb stand is one of my favourite, by far a healthier pick n’ mix option than other stores offer. The advent calendars also caught my eye, of course. I like that they come in a range of different sizes and price so there’s something for everyone.

Leaving the event, we all got a massive bag each with a Body Shop box full of goodies. I’m so happy with everything in it, best Christmas gift ever. I’ve always wanted to try their banana shampoo and the mini bath gels are perfect for my gym bag. The mini mango body butter as well. The Sparkler will come in handy for Christmas and New Year, when I want to look extra glam. If the bath bombs are as fun as they look, I’ll buy a whole bag next time I go in.

Thanks so much The Body Shop and Briggate Beauty (the Leeds store) for inviting me and gifting me this fab goody box! What’s catching your eye in this year’s Christmas range from The Body Shop?
