Wow, 2016 is probably the year that’s gone quicker than any year before. I know getting older means time will go quicker but this takes the price. I remember sitting down writing up my goals for 2016 like it was last week and the mid-year review only a day ago so here we are again; time to look back at the goals and see what I actually fulfilled.

Take More Pictures
As I mentioned in my mid-year update post, I bought a new camera in the first half of the year and it helped me tremendously taking more pictures. I still love the camera but I didn’t achieve my goal of taking themes pictures and getting to learn my camera. I’m really sorry to say but I’m still using the auto function – shame on me!!! – so that’s a goal that will have to see me through 2017 as well.

Be More Adventurous
I didn’t go travelling as much as I would like but my trip to America wonderful. I can recommend visiting Chicago and Nashville anytime. The second half hasn’t been as adventurous. A long weekend away in Copenhagen and outskirts (I still have posts to write about this visit) and a day climbing Ingleborough mountain. We did so well that the Three Peaks challenge has been accepted for springtime in 2017. I also stepped out of my comfort zone and tried out swegway. I’m hoping to do more things that I normally don’t in 2017.
Strengthen My Body
I feel like I’ve been very healthy this year when it comes to exercise. I’ve completed one obstacle 5k run and two 10k runs. I even reached my goal of running a 10k in an hour!!! Unfortunately in doing so I hurt my knee so for the last two months, I’ve been advised not to go running. I miss it a lot! My knee is alright now so as soon as I get paid again I’ll be buying a new pair of running shoes and get back on track. Since then, I’ve not been lazy. I’ve been cycling to and from work when possible and I’ve also started taking abs classes twice a week during lunch hours at work.
Blog Goals in 2016
I had a really good start and mid year I was really enjoying blogging. I still do but I’ve had some bumps along the way as of late. Other offline things has kept me occupied and I haven’t really felt motivated to write which is really sad. I will try where possible to stick to 2 posts a week, Tuesdays and Fridays in the new year but if not, I won’t feel bad at all. I took a whole week off during Christmas and it’s now motivated me to write more so a little break never hurts. My DA is still above 20 which was my end of year goal. Currently on 24 so hopefully I can reach nearer 30 in 2017.
Instagram is my favourite social media. I need to get better at it. I managed to get over 100 likes on a couple of posts in 2016 which I was really happy about and I also reached my target of 750 followers. At one point I was even hoping to reach 1k by the end of the year but for some reason 980 followers kept going up and down for months. Normally it’s weeks where I see an increase, to then drop as quickly but not for months. I’m now in the 990s so I’m determined to reach 1,500 or more in 2017. I can do it!
I’m really bad with Twitter. I don’t have the time to schedule any posts so I only tweet when I have the time. I haven’t taken part in hardly any chats. I was saying both these things mid year but still it didn’t improve in the second half. I think I’ll rethink Twitter in the new year. It surprises me a lot. This tweet for example, it got so many RT’s and likes but I’ve got no idea why. It’s sad really that I bought stuff for myself than others, ha. I have however reached my goal of 1,700 follower by gaining almost 600 more than that.
